Dear Jodi, It would be good to give a little more info as to what you might expect.
I have had 2 weddings (for better or worse) do you want flash$$$ low budget??? freaky!!! at the end of the day believe me it’s the years in front of you that really matter. What is your dream and budget.
The most recent weddings I have been to seem far more “grown up” than when we got married - I like the trend. Less formal, smaller, with less fuss. No sit down meal means people can move around and talk. Plenty of rooms around with a good view and bar facilities. The bridal couple leave by 11-11.30 - they’ve had a big day, let them go.
Another great wedding I went to was a morning ceremony and mid-afternoon reception. Party hardy for 7-8 hours, still home in bed asleep by 11.30 pm. Wake up fresh the next day. Fantastic idea.
The best wedding reception I ever went to, quite a few years back, was formal dress but camping out under the stars near the beach. They had hired the whole camping ground which had kitchen & shower facilities also. We had kick-to-kick of the footy before the ceremony, we all had a beer or champagne in our hands during the (outdoor)ceremony, and a barbecue and dance under a marquis afterwards. Down to the beach for the photo’s, slept in tents overnight, fried eggs and bacon in the morning for the hangover. Great wedding.
as a musician that plays at weddings a fair bit ,The best one I was ever at was a big Barbeque in a Park,People were more relaxed ,and it was alot less formal.
Mind you the groom Parachuted in to the Ceremony!.
Hi Again,
I have a contact for a photographer if you are interested. Unfortunately we didn’t know about him when we got married and so far 3 of our friends have used him for their weddings. His rates are very reasonable and the package you get is fantastic. You also get to keep all the proofs/originals which he puts on a CD for you.
