Poet’s Lane in Sherbrooke (Dandenong Ranges) is beautiful. http://www.poetslane.com.au/

My husband and I got married there 7 years ago, they have a small chapel where you can have the ceremony or you can choose to marry in the gardens. The menu choices are superb, what won me was the dessert buffet!!
They have accomodation for the newlyweds (if required), and your travelling guests.
Not sure of the rates these days but a public holiday/Sunday is always cheaper.

Good luck, it’s worth a little splurge if you are only planning on doing it once in a lifetime…..

It really depends on your budget.
    A few tips:
    * Invite only people you really want to spend the day with
    * Do something earlier in the day (breakfast, lunch or brunch)
    * Ask a family member or friend with a beautiful garden if they’d mind if you had it there.

Take a look at www.redscooter.com.au They actually have some great specials if you choose certain dates or times of the day. You can get up to 50% off. I’ve also been to a wedding in the function room of a pub. Most of it was catered at the venue but they also brought some of their own food. Most pubs have function rooms that are free to hire, if you look around you can find a real nice spot!

    Remember, it’s all about you!!

I understand it is hard you would like nice but also cheap as possible. We had our at The Tullamarnie Airport Motor Inn(also called Dibby’s Reception) on Mickleham Rd Tullamarnie. I think it has changed it name now but it is well worth a look. It has i beautiful stairs which we had great photo taken on. Hope this helps you.

Cope Williams Winery in Romsey, it is a complete venue for your whole wedding day, i got married there 3 years ago and we had the entire winery to ourselves (and our guests) for the whoe weekend. There are rooms for people to stay, you can get married in the gardens (no extra charge), they give you rooms to get ready there and a room for the night including breakfast. You can have a picnic there the next day. You can kick on in the pool room after the reception has finished…it was brilliant..we paid $80 per head for everything…excellent value for money. Good Luck…

Well it depends on your wedding theme. But I think a nice old fashioned reception is nice. Friends of mine done this 5 years agao and since 3 others have copied it. Go out and find a loverly place in the bush. ask guests to bring food baskets and wine/drinks. After all it is a day for you to relaxe with your friends not panic about them. I have attended all 4 of them and at each it has been enjoyable. no fuss because they are coming for your wedding. Just the vibes it brings and the sharing of food and wine. And it is a family thing even the children can enjoy. But don’t forget leave the bush as you found it. You never know some times the wild life enjoy watching to. I wish you health wealth and happiness.
